My first post-college job was as a proofreader for U.S. Patent Office documents. Talk about proofing letter by letter! I was fantastic at it. I then spent several decades as editor and project manager at various IT departments. I moved into working with fiction a dozen or so years ago, and have been editor, managing editor, and publisher. I was born and raised in Pennsylvania, lived in Maryland, California, Oregon and Ohio.
I don’t remember a time when I couldn’t read and didn’t have a book in my hands. I was a shy child (stop laughing, I was! I grew out of it), so books were my best friends and provided all the adventure, excitement and emotion I could want. Romances, fantasies, and cozy mysteries have been my preferred reading since I was a teenager. My favorites these days are paranormal and urban fantasy romances. And someday I’m going to realize my dream of becoming a published author of children’s books!
I wish I had a lot more time to read for pleasure! My TBR shelves and ereader contain over 800 books—I guess I’m a bit behind on my reading. 😉 When not working or reading, I collect Tarot cards (for the art), antique dictionaries and illustrated children’s books. A pack of bossy Welsh Corgis rule my home and heart. (Okay, there’s room for my son in both, too.)
